I have been an artist, watercolorist, and graphic designer for over thirty years, with my artistic passion cultivated since childhood. My early fascination with horses captured my imagination, quickly inspiring hundreds of pencil sketches, pastel drawings, and mixed-media paintings. These magnificent animals continue to be a profound source of inspiration, leading me to a deeper understanding of my identity as an artist. My artwork has since expanded to include other animals, flowers, and botanically-themed pieces. Floral and nature-inspired artwork, in particular, lends itself beautifully to invitations, stationery, and wedding suites.
Teaching art classes is incredibly rewarding. I offer beginner and intermediate classes in watercolor, acrylic, and drawing. My primary goal is to impart knowledge and positively inspire my students to embrace their inner artists. Often, I find myself learning something new and being inspired by my students in return. This teaching journey has profoundly shaped my understanding of myself, as I learn alongside my students and encourage us all to see the enduring beauty and wonder in the world. Together, we can capture the beauty we observe for future generations through the art we create.
My artistic journey is now expanding to include themes that tell a story, whether inspirational, societal, or environmental. Classes are offered in watercolor for beginner, intermediate, and masterclass levels.
Pour Painting Classes.
Charlene and her husband Anthony teach Pour Painting Classes to students who are looking for a
fun way to create a unique painting. Students learn the basics of how to use pouring methods to make
flow art in acrylic paint on canvas. In each class, Anthony shares his passion for the pouring process and the relaxation it brings. Each student is encouraged to name their painting before pouring to see if the title matches the final look of the painting once done.
Paint Parties.
Charlene offers Paint Parties for large or small groups in either acrylic paint on canvas or watercolor on paper. Each class is tailored to your needs.
